Oh, yo, oh, yo. Catch this !

I’m done! Like really and truly done! Like for reals done! The next time I go to campus for a class it will (hopefully) be in grad school! I’m so excited. Yay!

I think the psych exam went well; I will be really surprised if I don’t get at least an A- in that class. Now let us all just hope that my paper for Dr. Stone is as good as Misha said it is. I started freaking out wondering if I followed his instructions, but I think I did. I hope I did at least, but it’s too late to do anything about it.

I went to my adviser’s office today and told him I was concerned since my incomplete from last semester hadn’t been changed from an I to an A. He said not to worry, that I’ll be able to walk on Friday and the grade will most likely be changed before then. He said even if it’s not, he knows the paperwork has gone through so I will be fine. I could have kissed him!

Now I just have to clean the house. I’ve promised Misha that it will be done by Thursday when he gets home from work. But now, I take a nap! Yay for free time!

Awesome update

Got an email from my Modern France professor. The exam that I was worried about…I got an A! Even though I got an A- on the midterm, I still wound up with an A in the class. So for last semester:

  • French                                    A
  • Gender Psychology              A-
  • Comparative Revolutions   A-
  • Modern France                     A

That’s Dean’s list for spring & fall semesters! Plus and A & an A- for the summer. Not to brag, but I’m kind of a genius! 😉

Now let’s all cross our fingers that I get an A in my capstone and an A- in psychology to go along with that A in US history!

Back to work. I’m 5 functional pages in and realize that I have way too much information.

Good things are happening!

  1. Got my graduation approval, this means I actually get to graduate!
  2. Dr. Stone was able to fix the PAT mess that was left behind and not only do I get my honor cords, but I also get my certificate on commencement day!
  3. Got an unsolicited offer for a recommendation letter for grad school from one of my favorite professors
  4. Got an A in the class from said professor
  5. Zoë has started sleeping through the night
  6. Zoë is pretty damn near being potty trained
  7. Misha doesn’t have to go out of town again until the 17th
  8. I’ve made some really awesome new friends this semester. Here’s one!
  9. I’ve got my Robespierre paper outlined and might actually wind up cutting a bit so it’s not too wordy (better than not having enough!)
  10. I booked tickets to see my mom, Brock, & Jaeden
  11. D & T are signing on a house, set a date, have a venue booked for the wedding, & T has her dress and it’s gorgeous (Ok, this didn’t happen to me directly, but they are two of my favorite people)

Seriously, 30 kicks 29’s ass! Here’s hoping metrograde (mercury retrograde) doesn’t come around to kill things. No, I don’t buy into that per se, but someone near & dear to me does and she’s one of the smartest people I know.

one down, three to go

I got an email from my US history professor telling me that I have an A in the class! Yay! I’ve got three grades left to come in. Capstone and Adolescent Psychology from this semester and Modern France from last semester. The best I can do in the psych class is an A- because of the grades I have on the other tests. I’m just hoping for the best in Modern France and now I need to get back to busting my ass on my capstone paper.

Guess who just has random paragraphs, but nothing coherent to form a paper…

Almost over!

I went today and picked up my cap & gown. Did you know that you ahve to buy them and keep them? WTF am I going to do with this thing? It’s too bad Kristan is so much shorter than me; I could have just given it to her in December.

I have my PAT honor cords and my GPA honor cords now, but they were out of tassels for CLASS . I bought it, but I have to go back today and pick it up.  Kind of a pain in the ass, but at least I’m on campus already.

I am done with last semester finally! I took the exam today. It was a doozy. He told me that he didn’t think I needed to read the books other than the text. Yeah…20 points of the test are identifying two passages from the text and explaining their significance. Ouch. I got some of one of them and on the other I wrote “I think this is from the Surrealist Manifesto, but I didn’t re-read the books and it’s been a long time since I read them.” The main essay which was worth 30 points was an abstract question. Something about what communards would think of the 68 student revolt if they could see it. Seriously? WTF?

At least I’m done with it. All I can do now is hope for the best. I just have to email him an essay tonight, but it’s written already.

Here’s what is left:

  • Monday, May 11 -20 page paper on Robespierre due
  • Tuesday, May 12 -Adolescent Psychology final exam
  • Wednesday, May 13 & Thursday, May 14 -catch up on sleep
  • Friday, May 15 -Graduation!

Sad, but not really

Today I completed my last class as an undergraduate. It was with a professor that I absolutely love; he is one of the best at UH. Dr. Curry’s class is one of those classes that you don’t want to miss. You learn so much from him. I feel very lucky to have taken two courses with him. His US history from 60 to 76 class almost made me change my mind about focusing on French history.

I’ve got plenty to keep me busy for the next week and 1/2, but it feels odd. I think not going to class several days a week is going to take some getting used to. Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to it! It’s just strange and exciting to think that after all this time it’s finally ending!

I’m looking forward to reading for pleasure again, baking, having a clean house, and a lot less stress.

Irritated

I am so far behind. I’m not quite finished with the paper I have due tomorrow. I still need to study more for the exam I have tomorrow in my first class. I could have done all of this already had I not been cleaning up the mess someone else left behind all weekend.

I will survive

I am alive. I had an amazing 30th birthday and would love to tell you all about it… I just don’t have time to do it now.  I have more work than I can keep up with and no idea how to do it all. I haven’t watched All My Children in weeks! I am oddly craving the cheese bread stuff they have at CiCi’s Pizza, but won’t step foot in any of the ones near me.

Because of an unfortunate event (someone appears to have lost his/her mind) I am now the interim president of Phi Alpha Theta. So for the next month I have the pleasure of cleaning up the mess that he/she left behind. (If you happen to read this,  you know who you are, an apology would go a long way with everyone involved.)

To my now 6 regular readers, don’t expect many updates until the middle of the week. Hopefully things will calm down a little by then.

I do realize that this will jinx me…

but I’m so proud of her. Zoë has not peed or pooped on the floor at all in the past 24 hours. We’ve finally made it through a full day without a single accident!

I took the water away and am just letting her drink less frequently. She tends to go drink every 5 min or so then she has to pee. I don’t think she’s actually thirsty, if she sees one of the big girls drink she has to run over and drink too. Trying to break her of the habit.

She’s sleeping now, so I think I’m going to go to sleep instead of finishing my reading. I’ll be up in a few hours with her anyway.
