Since grad school is still on hold due to reproductive complications, I am considering going back for a second B.A. I am just 12 hours away from a B.A. in psychology. That can be done in just one semester.
I seriously considered double majoring in history & psychology before I graduated, but just did a psych minor instead. I was trying to avoid taking the statistics course that is required for psych majors. I figured since I was taking 2-3 advance level history courses every semester, taking a stats course might be a bad idea. It still might be, but I like to live dangerously.
The four remaining courses I have are:
- Social psych -an easy sophomore level course
- Stats -I still dread this one
- Physiological psych -behavioral neuroscience? Awesome!
- Cognitive psych – Bonjour Piaget! Comment allez-vous?
Maybe I just miss being a student…

Do it! Statistics can’t be that bad. Well, I dropped in in COMMUNITY COLLEGE. But still, you’re a smart kid, I think it will work out.
Thanks KA! I think I’m going to schedule an appointment with a psych dept adviser next week. They have 3 advisers for that department. Surely out of 3 there must be at least one who is better than Richard.
If you can knock a 2nd degree out in one semester – dayum. I say go for it. I was a semester shy of a duoble major and a year shy of a master’s, but I wanted to graduate with my friends…being at TCU without my girls seemed beyond retarded, so I took a year off between collidge and law skool. I regret that.
That said, I was 21 and wasn’t focused on seeing the world. If that 2nd degree is more important to you than being able to travel, I say do it! If you want to be able to hop a jet to Paris with yo man, eh, you’ve already got your sights set on advanced edumacation.

I love school. I say go for it! (Of course, it all depends on whether UH will offer all the classes you need in the same semester.)
They do offer them all. They are all required courses, so there are at least 3 sections of each class per semester. Since I’ll still have senior status I can register first.
I’m going to call tomorrow to schedule an appointment with an adviser. Hopefully it’s an easy process, but it is UH, so…
